Fairy hair, also known as sparkle shimmers - fairy lights - fairy floss - hair bling, is a type of hair extension. Silk thread is tied onto a single strand of hair (yep, just ONE) of hair for a sparkle or shine effect.

No way! Tinsel is for trees. The carefully selected, high quality sparkles I use are for your hair. 

Definitely! Sparkles are both dye and heat-resistant (up to 400 degrees). 

You can still visit your hair stylist for hair cuts, highlights, perms, etc. *Many clients do wait until after they've seen their hairdressers to have their sparkles installed, but this is personal preference. 

A knot is tied, connecting the sparkle to your hair, using a special hook. Unlike other applications, this method does not use a bead, glue, or tape. There is no damage to your hair.

 *I always recommend asking how fairy hair is applied before visiting anyone who says they offer this service. Some use beads, glue, and tape. Sparkle Strands Fairy Hair is committed to applying sparkles to one hair with the knot method - NO BEADS. NO GLUE. and NO TAPE. 

Sparkles are meant to be a temporary way to add some fun to your hair! Sparkles can last anywhere from a few days to a few months, or even longer! (This is all part of the excitement!) Clients who wish to maintain their sparkles often return every 6- to 8-weeks for a refresh. 

I can NEVER guarantee any length of sparkle wear as I cannot control when your actual hair will shed - this is truly a game of luck. Additional strands are applied at every appointment, but part of the excitement is seeing how long they can last! ... but why would you want to? 

Fairy hair is for anyone 6-years of age and older, so long as they have at least 2.5" of hair. 

Please be mindful of this when booking your appointment. 

*Fairy hair may not last as long in your child's hair. The application method is the same across all ages, yet shedding patterns sometimes mean that your child will lose their sparkles more quickly. Lose a sparkle? Make a wish!
